Terms of Service

Last updated: November 15, 2025

1. Operator and Applicability

TypstMe is operated by Yoan Gilliand, individual entrepreneur domiciled in Switzerland (hereinafter 'the operator'). These Terms of Service (ToS) govern the use of the TypstMe service accessible via https://typstme.ch. By using the service, you accept these ToS in their entirety.

2. Acceptance of Terms

Using TypstMe implies unreserved acceptance of these ToS. If you do not accept these terms, you must not use the service. For minor users (under 18 in Switzerland, or according to the digital age of majority applicable in your country - typically 13-16 in the EU/EEA under GDPR), consent from a legal representative is required. The operator is not able to verify the actual age of users and disclaims all responsibility in case of registration by a minor without parental authorization.

3. Service Description

TypstMe is a web application for creating, editing, and exporting resumes (CVs) in PDF format. The service includes a free version (with watermark on PDF exports) and a paid Pro version (lifetime access at CHF 14.99). The operator reserves the right to evolve features without notice.

4. User Account and Authentication

To use TypstMe, you must create an account via Supabase Auth. By creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information (including a valid email address)
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials (password)
  • Assume full responsibility for all activities performed under your account
  • Immediately inform us of any unauthorized use of your account

5. Pricing and Payment Terms

The Pro Pack requires a one-time payment:

  • Pro Pack: CHF 14.99 (Swiss francs) incl. VAT for lifetime access (perpetual license)
  • Payments processed by Stripe Switzerland GmbH (Zurich). Accepted methods: credit cards
  • Refund policy: payments are non-refundable except in case of major service defect (prolonged unavailability >48h, repeated inability to export CVs, data corruption attributable to the operator) per Art. 97 Swiss Code of Obligations
  • Immediate access: Pro features are unlocked upon payment confirmation
  • Receipt: automatically provided by Stripe after payment
  • The stated price is fixed and non-recurring. Any future price changes do not affect licenses already purchased.

6. User Content and Intellectual Property

Regarding the content you create on TypstMe:

  • You retain all intellectual property rights to your CV content (texts, personal data)
  • Your CV content is stored exclusively in your browser (localStorage). We only store your profile images on our servers, with your consent, to enable their display in your CVs.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content you enter
  • You can export (ZIP, PDF) and delete your data at any time via the interface
  • The user is solely responsible for regularly backing up their content via the export functions. Since CV content is stored in your browser, it will be lost if you clear your browser cache. The operator cannot be held liable for data loss.

7. Prohibited Uses

It is strictly forbidden to use TypstMe for:

  • Any illegal activity or violation of Swiss public order
  • Attempting to compromise the security, availability, or integrity of the service (hacking attempts, DDoS attacks, etc.)
  • Impersonating others or providing false information
  • Sending spam or unsolicited communications
  • Extracting, copying, or exploiting service content by automated means (scraping, bots)
  • Reselling or redistributing service access without written authorization

8. Platform Intellectual Property

The TypstMe platform (source code, design, interface, logo, brand) is the exclusive property of Yoan Gilliand and is protected by Swiss copyright law and international conventions. Typst is an open-source typesetting system used under a permissive license. Any unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or use of our proprietary elements is prohibited.

9. Limitation of Liability

Within the limits permitted by Swiss law: TypstMe is provided 'as is' without any warranty. No warranty is given regarding compatibility, absence of errors, or continuity of features. The operator shall not be liable for indirect damages, data loss, lost opportunities, or consequential damages. The operator cannot be held responsible for unavailability or failures attributable to third-party service providers (Supabase, Stripe, AWS, etc.). The operator cannot be held responsible for temporary interruptions related to maintenance, updates, or events beyond its control (force majeure). In case of major malfunction of the paid service, liability is limited to the amount paid (CHF 14.99).

10. Suspension and Termination

The operator reserves the right to:

  • Temporarily suspend your access in case of suspected misuse or ToS violation
  • Permanently terminate your account in case of serious or repeated ToS violations (with 30 days notice except in emergencies)
  • You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@typstme.ch. Your data will be deleted per our privacy policy
  • Upon termination, you have 30 days to export your data before permanent deletion

11. ToS Modifications

The operator reserves the right to modify these ToS at any time. For substantial changes, registered users will be notified by email 30 days before implementation. Continued use of the service after modification constitutes acceptance of the new terms. The current version is always accessible at https://typstme.ch/terms-of-service.

12. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These ToS are governed by Swiss substantive law. In case of dispute, the parties will endeavor to find an amicable solution. Failing that, the jurisdiction is the operator's domicile canton, subject to mandatory consumer law provisions. Consumers domiciled in the European Union may also bring actions in the courts of their place of residence.

13. Severability Clause

If any provision of these ToS is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain fully in effect. The invalid provision will be replaced by a valid provision that most closely approximates the original economic intent.
